Our endeavour is towards continuous all round development of students through rigorous curricular and co-curricular activities, that afford all individuals though located in a rural setting the opportunity to excel in agricultural science and in their life. The students are admitted every year in the college based on the eligibility criteria prescribed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The students who are poorly performing in the classes are indentified and given special coaching to catch up with rest by engaging the faculty. During the last 4 years, 260 students have successfully completed the B.Sc. (Agri.) programme from our institute and they are excelling in the different fields of agriculture and related areas. Since inception the CAT is making several efforts like maintaining high student teacher ratio (12:1), employing highly qualified and experienced teachers, etc., to enhance the quality of the agricultural education and individual attention to each student enabling it to maintain the student passing percentage always above 90 per cent. Around 70 per cent of the students are securing the OGPA of more than 8 out of 10. In fact, the average pass percentage of the last 4 batches is 93.13 per cent. Further, our students are also excelling in the ICAR-JRF examinations by obtaining 13th (Plant Science), 8th (Soil Science) and 8th (Crop Physiology) ranks during the year 2015 to 2017 and five students have obtained placements in ICAR JRF examination and they are pursuing PG programme in various institutes of India.
Around 10 of our alumni are pursuing Ph. D., programme and 50 graduates are pursuing M. Sc (Agri) at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and other campus. As an incentive to meritorious students in different disciplines College of Agricultural Technology, Theni has instituted 13 Gold Medals given on Convocation Day each year in the name of eminent Indian and Tamil Nadu Agricultural Scientists and progressive farmers.
